In a career spanning more than two decades, Chernysheva has held solo exhibitions at the Russian Museum, St Petersburg in 2004, and at the Drawing Center, New York in 2016, as well as group shows at the New Museum, New York in 2011, and the Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin in 2013. Chernysheva represented Russia at the 49th Venice Biennale in 2001 and exhibited at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015. Her work is held in international collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Russian Museum, St Petersburg; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
