Physical description
This fan painting depicts a sholar’s retreat in a mountain landscape hidden behind a screen of trees. In the left foregound are boats of small figures floating in a lotus pond. In the upper left corner is a poetic inscription. The painting was orginally painted on a folding fan. It was then removed from the bamboo framework and mounted on paper.
