The young man has short, curly hair, a short beard and moustache and large, dark eyes with defined eyelashes. He wears a brownish-black cloak over a white tunic. His neck and face are cream-brown, his lips are pink and his eyes, beard, hair, eyebrows and eyelashes are dark brown. The outline of the eyes and nose are a lighter brown. Short zigzag lines in dark brown radiate from the left shoulder of the youth. The background colour is a murky grey with a line of reddish-brown around the top edge of the panel. This same colour is visible on the young man's right shoulder, possibly as part of his tunic or cloak.
