About this work

This striking frontal image of Jacqueline is taken directly from the linocut that Picasso produced at the time of their marriage in March 1962. A plaster mould was taken from the lino block and then impressed into the terracotta clay to reproduce the image. The plaque has then been decorated with black slip, as if it was the lino block, inked up and ready to print.
