Frame

Boys drawing came into the collection in 1981 in this frame, which can safely be regarded as the early presentation of the painting.
The frame is made from a flat timber section, mitred at the corners and painted with a bronze (gold) paint.
This frame was used as the model for reframing another Smith painting from the 20’s – Crowd (1764-5).
