inscribed in pen and ink on reverse of old blue paper mount: -ce dessin provient d'un recueil de 26 portraits, tous de la main de Lagneau. il portait sur le marge primitive cette inscription: Mr du Palais, magistrat du Poictou, qui désignait bien evidamment Pierre Brisson, Sr du Palais senéchal du bas-Poitou, mort en 1607. (Mr du Palais, magistrat du Poictou underlined)
