Meyer Daniel Altson’s Winged words, portrait of the artist’s wife, 1926, came into the collection with this frame in 1967 which has the Rowley label on the reverse.
The frame, in a reduced classical revival style, is finished with silver leaf and given a washed/glazed layer to shift the colour toward gold.
