Physical description
Ground of cotton twill with crewel embroidery in polychrome wool with trailing floral motif in blue, red, green, yellow and brown. Two long fragments of a curtain which have been sewn together. Each width measures approximately 38.3 cm. The thread count of the cotton twill is 17 warps/ 17 wefts per cm. Large areas of the twill have heavily pilled. The crewel threads are quite highly twisted and relatively fine. Each yarn is about 1/2 mm width and with about 12 twists per cm.
