Physical description
Hat with wide brim, narrower at the centre back, with very shallow crown section. Circular velvet covered wire support with side grip loops fixed to underside to hold hat to wearer’s head. The hat is constructed of wide black and white raffia strips twisted and woven together in a spiral configuration fixed to a base of clear nylon woven webbing. Hat is trimmed to right side proper with two black silk chrysanthemum flowers.
