Physical description
Princess line wedding dress of ivory silk taffeta with centre front opening to hipline. Fastened up to neck with centre front opening of brass hooks and hand stitched eyelets. Neck, cuffs of ¾ length sleeves, centre front opening and over-skirt trimmed with lace. Bodice is fitted using eight gored panels at back and darts at the front. Overskirt ruched at back to form bustle, which extends from a bow decorated with artificial paper orange blossom to form a fan-shaped train edged with frills and lace. Underskirt formed by vertical ruching, edged with an inverted pleat frill and swept up to the centre front opening and trimmed with a bow and three frills of lace. Inside back skirt fullness is controlled by series of cotton tapes. Dress is backed in cream cotton.
