Physical description
Two-piece day dress comprising bodice and skirt of pink and white printed cotton in a floral design. Bodice is boned and has a high stand-up lace collar and long sleeves with cuffs. Front of bodice and cuffs are decorated with cream cotton binding. The sleeves and bodice are decorated with rows of pin tucking. The bodice has an attached inner bodice of white cotton, fastening with cloth-covered buttons. The bodice fastens asymmetrically across the front on the left proper side with a series of hooks. The matching skirt is made of 4 gores with two flounces, flaring out at the hem with two flat frills and decorated with seven rows of cream cotton binding. Skirt has a flat front and opens at left proper side, fastened with mother-of-pearl buttons. Fullness in back of skirt is gathered into a double pleat at centre back waist. Skirt and bodice are backed in white cotton.
