Physical description
The bed consists of a base, end panels, a cornice across the front and a roof. The bed is ornately carved with fertility symbols and auspicious motifs, including phoenixes, peonies, and the Daoist Eight Immortals. The wood is lacquered in red lacquer and the carved areas are gilded.
