Physical description
This four lobed hat stand resembles a tall pot, vase or brush stand. It is painted in sumptuous enamel colours of red, pink, orange, yellow, green against a turquoise background. It is decorated with auspicious images of peony, flower of spring and kind of flowers, a pair of gourds, symbols of long life, and butterflies, also a symbol of long life, at the word die 蝶 for butterfly is similar in pronunciation to the word die 耋 meaning eighty years old. It has a number or four petals-like holes or openings.
