Frame
Reproduction, 2001, based on the remnants of the original frame

Frame

Nicholas Caire's photograph Fairy scene at the Landslip, Blackspur, came to the collection in a frame based on a scotia form with a prominent flat. The surface was distressed, but the reverse revealed the face of the frame had previously been covered with deep red velvet. In 2001 the framing of the image was examined and a replica of the velvet covered frame constructed.
