Depicts a series of objects from the artist's bedroom which are drawn in rich, brightly coloured pastels on black paper. " This composition of objects chosen for variations in shape, colour and texture was done as a homework for Bell. The central arrangement of hat, handbags, gloves and newspaper is piled up on bare floor-boards which lead the eye back to the suitcase in the upper left and across to the vases on the right. The red heart on the black vase was invented to stop the corner from receding into depth." (Felicity St
