Physical description
Wheel-made jug with a round body, narrowing to a small, flat base with a raised base ring. The neck is narrow, rising to a trefoil mouth with two circular 'eyes' painted in brown/black near the rim. The handle is attached at the rim and shoulder and painted in brown/black horizontal and vertical lines with a single cross. A 'tail' extends from the base of the handle and curves back up towards the handle, ending in a point. The fabric is a pale buff colour. Decoration on the body is comprised of a chevron pattern enclosing diamond shapes, giving the appearance of a fish design. This design is located on the shoulder at the front of the vessel. On either side of this design is a 'sun' pattern cosisting of a circle and radiating lines.
