Physical description
Outfit comprising simple strap dress and red origami shawl. (a) Apron style long dress in printed cotton fastening with a single beige felted strap running diagonally across the back. The dress features printed floral and bird motifs over a cream ground. Further motifs including two large parakeets and flowers have been appliqued to the front bodice with silver thread. Across proper right side heavy orange, brown and red wool stubs have been hand embroidered on below the strap. The dress fastens with a single button and a asymmetrical zip at rear. (b) Long red wool shawl that has been constructed by pleating, stitching and folding the fabric into loose origami formations. The shawl has a high collar and descends from the shoulder line, down the front to a lower rounded hem at rear. Fastens below the bust with a large covered button and loop.
