Accessible Learning with Art

Mon–Fri, 10am, 11.30am, 1pm & 2.30pm
All Levels
NGV International & NGV Australia

The NGV is for everyone. Art and design can inspire authentic and meaningful learning experiences for students of all levels, however we understand that some students require a more individualised approach to make this possible. This introduction to the NGV supports students with diverse learning abilities — and their teachers— to feel more confident and empowered to visit the Gallery. Students will be encouraged to creatively respond to works in the Collection and to make connections between what they see and their own lives and experiences.

This program is designed to be flexible. Prior to your visit, an NGV educator will be in contact to discuss program options, including suggested artworks and activities, and sensory and visual supports to suit the needs of your group.

Students will:

  • Observe and respond to art and design from the NGV Collection.
  • Discover new ideas and thoughts in a safe and supported environment.
  • Develop and practice social-emotional skills through supported learning opportunities within the Gallery context

Duration: Up to 60 minutes
Cost: $10.50 per student

When submitting your booking request, please indicate which location you would like to visit.

    Study Focus

Please provide details of any relevant themes and skills your students are learning about at school. While we cannot offer individually tailored programs, our museum educators will consider this information when selecting and discussing works of art during the program.

    Date Selection

We recommend you provide three date options for your program to avoid disappointment. We will do our best to accommodate your first preference, however due to high demand this may not always be possible.
