Inspire students’ creative writing with thought-provoking works of art and design. Guided by an NGV Educator, students will be encouraged to think imaginatively and to experiment with language, literary devices and rich descriptive vocabulary to create a series of short creative written responses to works in the NGV Collection, including poetry and descriptive writing.

Students will:

  • Discuss connections between visual and written creative texts.
  • Analyse works of art and design from different cultural, historical and contemporary contexts using deep looking and close reading techniques.
  • Create short pieces of creative writing incorporating rich vocabulary, descriptive phrases and literary devices.

Cost: $10.50 per student
