Discover Art at the NGV | 3–6

Mon–Fri, 10 am, 11:30 am, 1 pm
Levels 3–6
NGV International & The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia

Join us for an inspiring encounter with works of art from different places, times and cultures. Through engaging activities and lively discussions led by an NGV educator, students will explore why people make art and discover some different ways stories, ideas and emotions are expressed in artworks. Ideal for a first-time visit to the NGV, this program is designed to spark curiosity and imagination, build confidence in interpreting and responding to works of art, and expand students’ observational and analytical skills.

Students will:

  • Express thoughts and ideas, form opinions and make comparisons between works of art.
  • Identify and discuss how artists use materials, techniques and processes to express their ideas and meaning in their work.
  • Identify the role and purpose of galleries and visual arts in a community.

For bookings at NGV International during Term 1 and early Term 2, this program will include works from NGV Triennial 2023.

Duration: 1 hour
Cost: $10.50 per student
