Watercolour Country: 100 works from Hermannsburg features new acquisitions by Albert Namatjira, whose landscapes are synonymous with the Central Australian outback, alongside works by several generations of Hermannsburg artists who have also been inspired to paint the ethereal beauty of Arrernte country. Discuss the legacy of the Hermannsburg School and learn about the artists’ vital connection to Country in this educator-led gallery discussion. Identify the techniques used by Hermannsburg artists to represent the vibrant colour and atmosphere of this distinctive landscape.

Cost: $10 per student

Learning Objectives:

    • Discuss the history of the Hermannsburg School and stories of artists including Albert Namatjira
    • Identify and describe the visual characteristics of artworks in Watercolour Country: 100 works from Hermannsburg
    • Analyse a range of watercolour painting techniques in artworks by Hermannsburg School artists

    Changes to your booking must be made in writing. Changes can be made up to 14 days prior to your visit. Invoices will be sent prior to the visit. Full program fees will be incurred for late cancellations or amendments.
