Focus on key knowledge and skills required for VCE Art Making and Exhibiting – Exhibiting Artworks, Unit 3 Outcome 3, Unit 4 Outcome 3, in an NGV exhibition. Join an NGV educator in China – The Past is Present to discuss the context, techniques and intentions of the artists. Analyse and discuss the curatorial considerations, exhibition design, and conservation methods involved in preparing and presenting this exhibition.

Cost: $10 per student
Duration: 1 hour

Learning Objectives: 

  • Identify and describe the characteristics of an NGV gallery space.
  • Discuss and analyse the curatorial considerations and thematic connections between artworks in  China – The Past is Present.
  • Analyse and discuss the presentation of artworks in  China – The Past is Present.
  • Investigate, identify and evaluate the methods used and considerations involved in the presentation, conservation and care of specific artworks in the exhibition.
