Introducing QUEER: Stories from the NGV Collection

COMMUNITY ACTIVISM

These 10-minute talks introduce some of the stories and themes in QUEER: Stories from the NGV Collection. Catch one in the Great Hall before you see the exhibition, drop by afterwards or watch online.

Up next: Community activism – Exhibition co-curator Meg Slater introduces stories of activism and community-building that are present in the exhibition. Referring to exhibition works by David McDiarmid, Ponch Hawkes, Tourmaline and other artists and activists, Meg will consider the pervasive and central role collectivism and organising plays within queer communities.

This talk supports the conversation Meg will have with Angela Bailey (President) and Nick Henderson (Committee Member) from the Australian Queer Archives (AQuA).
