Spotlight on the NGV Collection | Korean Art

In this special online discussion, Asian Art curators Wayne Crothers and Annika Aitken take us through the history of this important, growing area of the Asian Art collection. They discuss early acquisitions and recent additions including a magnificent, painted folding screen from the Joseon dynasty.

This event also highlights a major new acquisition: the first historical moon jar to be acquired by an Australian public collection. This remarkable eighteenth century object is prized for its associations with nature and minimalist aesthetic, which is significant to both historical and contemporary Korean art.
