Antarctica is an architecture and design practice that has enjoyed success through the promotion of sustainable community projects particularly on the periphery of areas not normally associated with architectural engagement. This has resulted in the Knox Aquatic Centre and Flowerdale Community House. Community projects been coupled with research into sustainable and affordable residential models for volume housing such as House 4 for Habitat 21, and experimental interventions such as the temporary ‘Greenhouse’ eco-bar in Federation Square.
