Born 1972, Melbourne, Victoria; lives and works in Melbourne. David Jolly was a founding member of Stripp Gallery, Melbourne, and a studio artist at Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne, from 1993 to 1995. He was a finalist in the 2008 and 2010 Basil Sellers Art Prize, and undertook residencies in Barcelona in 2003 and Malaysia in 2006. He has presented regular solo exhibitions at Sutton Gallery, Melbourne, since 2001. Recent group exhibitions include Photocopier, Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne, 2010; The Futile City, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Melbourne, 2011; and Artists’ Proof #1, Monash University Museum of Art, Melbourne, 2012.
