David Thomas

Born 1951, Belfast, Northern Ireland; lives and works in Melbourne. David Thomas has held numerous group and solo exhibitions since the mid 1990s, both in Australia and internationally. Selected projects include John Beech and David Thomas, Proximus, Bonn, Germany, 2004; 3rd Gong Ju International Art Festival, Lim Lip Museum, South Korea, 2006; Abstrakt – Photo, Centre for Contemporary Non-Objective Art, Brussels, Belgium, 2006; Dan Graham, Christoph Dahlhausen and David Thomas, Kunsthalle DominiKanerKirche Osnabrück, Germany, 2007; Looking at Looking: The Photographic Gaze, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, 2011; Photopaintings, Timelines and Monochromes, Everything Nothing Projects, Canberra, 2012; and White Paintings, Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne, 2012. Thomas is Professor of Fine Art, RMIT University.
