Jo Hawley

Born 1969 Cambridge, England, New Zealand 1971–89, 1993–2000, United Kingdom 1989–93, arrived Melbourne 2000; lives and works in Melbourne.


Jo Hawley completed a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and English Literature at Auckland University in 1996. In 2002, Hawley commenced her jewellery practice, and completed her Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology (Jewellery) at NMIT in 2012. Recent exhibitions include Kaleidoscope, the NMIT 2012 Graduate exhibition where she received the award for Best Design. In 2013 Hawley exhibited in the Contemporary Australian Silver & Metalsmith Award, Post Office Gallery, Bendigo Art Gallery, and was the recipient of the E.G.ETAL Design and Development Award. Hawley also exhibited in Graduate Metal 13, part of the JMGA Conference, Brisbane, 2013, and received the 'House of Jewellery' prize.
