Kristin McIver

Born 1974, Melbourne, Victoria; lives and works in Melbourne. Kristin McIver completed a Master of Visual Art at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2009. In 2012 her work was selected as the winner of the inaugural Melbourne Sculpture Prize. McIver has also been selected as a finalist in awards including the Montalto Sculpture Prize, 2009–10; 3rd Ward’s Summer Open Call, New York, 2010; and The Substation Contemporary Art Prize, Melbourne, 2011. Recent solo exhibitions include Cancer, Donkey Wheel House, Melbourne, 2012; Lifeless III, Royale Projects, Palm Springs, United States, 2013; and Status Quo, James Makin Gallery, Melbourne, 2013. In 2012 McIver’s work appeared in the book Bright: Typography Between Art and Illustration.
