LAB came to prominence in 1997 on winning the competition to design Federation Square, including the Ian Potter Centre, NGV Australia. This project both captured and enflamed the public imagination, and gave rise to one of the most significant debates on architecture and public space in Melbourne. The acceptance and ultimate success of this project launched the firm into international practice with offices in Melbourne, Shanghai and Delhi.
