Manon van Kouswijk

Born 1967, Warnsveid, Netherlands; arrived Australia 2010; lives and works in Melbourne.

Manon van Kouswijk completed her studies in art and jellewery at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam in 1995. Before this she studied Goldsmithing at the Vakschool, Schoonhoven, from 1985 to 1990. Recent solo exhibitions include ObjectSpace, Auckland, New Zealand, together with Fabrizio Tridenti in 2012, and Bead the System at Gallery Funaki, Melbourne, 2011. Selected group exhibitions include Unexpected Pleasures: The Art and Design of Contemporary Jewellery, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne and Design Museum, London, 2012–13; Jewelism, Fingers Gallery, Auckland and Mirror Mirror, Espace Solidor, Cagnes sur Mer, France, both in 2012.Van Kouswijk is currently the coordinator of the Jewellery Studio and lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts, Monash University, Melbourne.
