McBride Charles Ryan

Founded 1988, based in Melbourne. McBride Charles Ryan is a multi-awardwinning architecture firm founded by husband-and-wife team Robert McBride and Debbie Ryan. Since the early 1990s MCR has remained one of Melbourne’s most celebrated architecture practices whose studio-based approach defies categorisation. In 2005 they were awarded the Victorian Architecture Medal, and in 2009 received the World Architecture Festival award for ‘Best House’. Their projects, ranging from private homes to major institutional projects, expand the vocabulary of architectural expression and engage in the articulation of complex issues, such as the representation of a city’s culture and identity. Recent projects in Melbourne include the Dallas Brooks Community Primary School in Broadmeadows, 2013, PEGS Senior Campus in Keilor East and Cloud House in Fitzroy, both 2012.
