Born 1968, Melbourne; lives and works in Melbourne.
Nicholas Bastin completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours, Gold and Silversmithing, in 1994 and a Master of Fine Art in 2005, both at RMIT University. Bastin currently lectures in the School of Art, RMIT University, where he completed a PhD in 2011. His most recent exhibitions include This Beguiling Shelf, shown in conjunction with a residency at Youkobo Art Space, Tokyo, 2013; Unexpected Pleasures: The Art and Design of Contemporary Jewellery, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne and Design Museum, London, 2012–13; and Sleepless Hero at Craft, Melbourne, 2012.
