Raymond Young, born 1966, Melbourne, lives and works in Dhurringile, Victoria. Raymond Young is of Gunnai, Yorta Yorta and Gunditjmara descent and is nephew of senior artist Ray Thomas. Young was given access to Gunnai/Kurnai shield designs through the Statewide Indigenous Arts in Prisons and Community Pilot Program and was inspired to make innovative ceramic forms that connect him with his culture. He exhibited his work in CONFINED 5, which led to his inclusion in Melbourne Now.
