Born 1985, Mildura, Victoria; lives and works in Melbourne. Steaphan Paton, a descendant of the Gunai and Monaro- Ngarigo peoples, grew up in Gippsland, Victoria. He was highly commended for the Lin Onus Award at the 2007 Victorian Indigenous Art Awards and was a finalist in the 2012 and 2013 awards. He has received a number of grants, including a City of Melbourne Laneways Commission for his project Urban Doolagahl in 2011. His solo exhibition Terra Nullius Loungeroom was presented at Seventh Gallery, Melbourne, in 2013.
