Joshua Petherick
Joshua Petherick’s sculptural assemblages, videos and images explore the effects of unprecedented digitisation in contemporary life. Using his iPhone’s HD video camera, Petherick recorded the glass of an office scanner in operation. The resultant ‘flatbed abstractions’ reveal mystifying landscapes that explore intersections of human and technological life. These works inhabit, Petherick asserts, “a realm where object and image is fractured, deliquesced and dispersed from fixed positioning and identity.”
