Andrew Hazewinkel works across photography, video, installation and sculpture to explore ideas connected to anthropology, archaeology and history. His large works on carborundum sandpaper re-contextualise and revive three objects from antiquity. By documenting and re-interpreting these (perhaps forgotten) objects, Hazewinkel bridges a gap between past and present and provokes thinking about our relationship to the past.
