Formed in 1998, Preston Zly Design is the collaborative practice of shoemaker Johanna Preston and sculptor Petr Zly. Their commission for kids features a theatrical display of giant pop-up books that create magical settings for their recreations of four iconic shoes, such as including Cinderella’s glass slippers and Dorothy’s ruby shoes from The Wizard of Oz. Kids can also make their own paper shoes, guided by a short film that brings the shoemaking process to life.
