Nobody Denim
(est. 1999, Melbourne)
Nobody Denim works with sustainable denim and apparel. Its clothing is designed with fit, form, purpose and attitude at the forefront. Accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia, the label prioritises the longevity of the natural environment and quality staples, providing customers with full transparency on its manufacturing and supply chains.
For Melbourne Now, Nobody Denim presents a new capsule look of conscious, ready-to-wear denim made in partnership with an Australian transparency technology start-up, FIBRETRACE, which aims to inform consumers about what they are buying and where it came from. The cotton is embedded with bioluminescent particles that allow fabrics and garments to be coded and tagged at each stage of the production process.
The Tailored denim trench and trousers demonstrate the label’s innovative approach to wardrobe mainstays, as well as its ongoing commitment to the environment, local production and celebrating the Australian fashion industry. These garments have been ethically manufactured in Melbourne, maximising resource efficiency, minimising wastage and using natural enzymes/fibres. The pieces are made from Good Earth Cotton, developed from a modern regenerative farming program that creates the world’s only climate-positive, traceable cotton by sequestering carbon. The program delivers tangible benefits to growers – including land restoration, enhanced soil and pasture biodiversity and improved natural resource use efficiency – while aiming to better conserve and protect natural ecosystems.
Founded by John Condilis, Nobody Denim was born in a small, family-run denim laundry in Melbourne’s backstreets and now retails in boutiques internationally. The label is dedicated to ethical production, with most garments designed and made in Melbourne under fair working conditions, using the company’s own factory and laundry. Nobody Denim is a member of the Australian Fashion Council and works closely with Sustainability Victoria on innovation within the local fashion and textile industry.
