Monet’s family stay briefly at Vernon. While in search of a more suitable dwelling, Monet finds and leases a house, ‘Le Pressoir’ in Giverny. Giverny is a small village 80kms north-west of Paris. It is a perfect location as the house is beautiful and set in the Seine valley, the garden is extensive and the children can attend school in nearby Vernon.
