The exhibition of the Haystacks series at Durand-Ruel Gallery in May is a sell out and Monet’s prices are high, 3,000 – 4,000 francs each. Pissarro claims one American buyer pays 9,000 francs for one painting. Monet's income in 1891 is around 190,000 francs. He is now an extremely wealthy man.
