1895

Monet visits Norway, travelling by train for three days. He stays with his stepson Jacques Hoschedé who tries to protect him from public attention. Monet extends his stay when he sees the spectacular Mount Kolsaas, which reminds him of Japanese woodblock prints of Mt Fuji. He becomes obsessed with painting the snow in Norway.
