Apart from one small still life executed on glass by Valentine Prax (1897–1981), the NGV had no School of Paris paintings by a female artist. Acquiring Françoise Gilot’s Blue eyes (Les Yeux bleus) 1956 has admirably redressed this imbalance. The artist talks about her life and work.
