Sydney-based furniture and industrial designer James Walsh recently received the Australian Furniture Design Award for his entry Anthropic bench. The NGV partnered with Stylecraft to present the inaugural biennial award as part of Melbourne Design Week 2020.
Walsh joins Curator of Contemporary Design and Architecture, Simone LeAmon in conversation to discuss his approach to object design exploring the potential of materiality through the use of both old and new making techniques and his winning design for The Australian Furniture Design Award in this year’s Melbourne Design Week.
