Join Italian author and artist Francesco Careri on an unplanned wandering through the unexplored territories of Melbourne, taking the city by surprise. The walk will follow a non-linear path and be open to diversions, stumbling and deliberately going wrong – exploration does not need a destination, but time to waste.
This event draws on ideas from Careri’s book ‘Walkscapes. Walking as an Aesthetic Practice’, his work with participatory urban workshop Stalker/Osservatorio Nomade and as Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture of Roma Tre University, where he runs Civic Arts, a peripatetic laboratory grounded in the walking exploration of neglected urban areas.
