Applying for Top Arts 2023 and looking for handy tips? Gain insights into the process, unpack the selection criteria and pick up photography skills in this online interactive presentation. Hear from the Top Arts curator, exhibiting students and an NGV photographer to fine tune your application.

The annual Top Arts exhibition showcases outstanding artworks and folios by students who have completed VCE Art or VCE Studio Arts and is a highlight of the NGV’s exhibition calendar.  Students from across Victoria who have completed Units 3 and 4 of VCE in 2022 are warmly encouraged to apply to be part of the exhibition in 2023.  Applications open in the first week of September and close Wednesday October 19, 2022.

  • Identify and describe Top Arts selection criteria
  • Analyse a specific approach employed by an exhibiting Top Arts student through their submission experience
  • Develop photography skills to capture quality photographs of artworks
  • Gain tips to generate a highly polished online submission for Top Arts 2023
