Making NGV Triennial provides rare insights into the NGV’s diverse methods of working with contemporary artists and designers, through a display of objects and materials related to the works of NGV Triennial artists and designers Hoda Afshar, Jean Jullien and Bethan Laura Wood, along with the work of NGV exhibition designers and curators.
In an intimate behind the scenes experience, guests are invited to learn about the display from NGV Curator Dr Maria Quirk and Senior Project Officer Nicola Suur, before being invited into the NGV Library and Research Archive to be introduced to a selection of material related to Triennial artist Fernando Laposse by NGV conservator MaryJo Lelyveld – brought out especially for the group.
This is a unique opportunity to get a glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes in an art museum when commissioning contemporary art and design, and the process of curating, documenting and archiving NGV Triennial.
