Book Launch and Panel Discussion: Looking to regions, art outside the urban

Sorry you missed this one!

Launching a new book by Dr Don Edgar – Art for the Country: The story of Victoria’s regional art galleries explores a lively social history of community conflict over the value and meaning of art in country towns. From the early ‘provincial’ galleries of Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong and Warrnambool, the book follows the journey of these galleries from colonial times to now. Featuring an introduction to Art for the Country and followed by a panel discussion uncovering the formative years, rich histories and current challenges facing our beloved regional institutions.
