This talk explores how the architecture and design of Centrepoint Arcade can support pro-social behaviour. The Arcade, and the adjoining public space of the Little Malop Street Mall, have been hotspots for anti-social behaviour for decades. However, positive change is occurring in the arcade with the re-activation of shopfronts through art installations and the transformation of the arcade atrium into a shared communal space for creatives and social service providers, which creates a more inclusive and safer place for all people.
This session is a collaboration between Dr Fiona Gray from Civic Collective and Creative Geelong.
Afternoon tea is provided.
