User-centred design is one of the dominant practices in use today, with design thinking reaching into all levels of business. While noble in intent, it can limit the scope of our work to a relationship with a singular user at the time of interaction. This night will present a range of talks exploring how contemporary experience design practice can take a broader ecological and systemic view that doesn’t just situate users, customers, and humans at the centre of their work. To prepare ourselves for the future means prototyping ideas and mindsets that might get us there.
